[Folk, Sub pop] Fleet Foxes-Helplessness Blues

To say honestly when I started writing this post, I was not expecting, that i will listen this record already after two days.( In the begging this post was about Fleet Foxes new video) Everybody know, that official release of Helplessness Blues will be on May 3rd 2011(03/05/11).If you heard Fleet Foxes S/T album, I'm sure you'll understand  how I was waiting for their new album, and can you imagine my surprise when found Helplessness Blues online for free(03/04/11), one month before official release.First off, a couple notes on the release of Helplessness Blues. Anyway,if you will find a way to download an album for free, do it, but it's gonna be more honest, if you will pre-order there album, because guys really deserve all the support they can get.
Robin Pecknold-Fleet Foxes' frontrmen, knows that the leak has happened, and on his Twitter he  even wrote, that he is happy, there's a good quality version out there.

From the first track, we can already hear, that Pecknold and Co. were really working on their new album. They tried not to fall below the level of the first album, and it is not easy task.

Helplessness Blues wears its influences on its sleeve.
60′s folk pop, some kind of light psychedelic, straight blues weave throughout the record. It sounds really spring, and I want to say - April is a right month for a release, as you can remember their S/T album was such a winter album.
I don’t want to get into a complete song-by-song breakdown

I really don't want to discuss each song from the album, every song on here is unique, and you can write about it individual post.

So, what can I tell you about Helplessness Blues, it's awesome, Fleet Foxes fulfilled their mission. I'm listening to this album already for the third time, all the time while I was writing post, I was listening to it. Perfect album!

[electronic, trip-hop, instrumental] The Insane Warrior - We Are the Doorways

I guess everybody heard about RJD2, or at least heard his songs, several of them were even soudtracks to Hollywood movies, but today I want to tell you about his side-project which called The Insane Warrior.
Insane warrior sounds completely different when you compare it with RJD2, but if you're familiar with the music Rambels, you're likely to hear John's emphasize.

In a weblog posting on his website, RJ wrote:" In ways, you can think of The Insane Warrior as an entirely different dude.Like that part at the end of The Adventures of Link, when you fight that inverted version of yourself. It`s funny; when I started making records, I toyed with the idea of renaming myself every time I released an album, cause I always liked the idea of an artist trying to reinvent themselves on each album. Obviously, I didn't. This album is kind of an incarnation from an alternate universe where that IS happening; that's how I'd like you to think of it, really. Off somewhere inconceivable is The Insane Warrior."

By the way, for my point of view this album is one of the best albums of winter 2010-2011, so I hope you will enjoy it!

[Dubstep, Future Garage, Ambient] Clubroot

Dan Richmond aka Clubroot was a bad student in school and a creepy dreamer. The second aspect is very evident in his work. I guess I will not give out any particular album or release. Almost every one of his tracks are worthy of attention.

[OFWGKTA,Hip-Hop] Hodgy Beats & Domo Genesis - Tang Golf

In May 2010, the Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All collective released the Radicalmixtape. And it was probably the closest thing they have done to a typical hip-hop mixtape as it featured the MCs spitting over a selection of industry beats. This time Hodgy Beats just released a new track with Domo Genesis called “TangGolf”.Pretty dope stuff, check it out!

[Minimal, Deep House, Techno] Nicolas Jaar-Space is only noise

In the end of the last year there was already information in internet, about the up comming debut album of young musician from USA Nicolas Jaar.
Nicolas Jaar just made something fascinating. Space Is Only Noise isn't techno, but it feels a little bit like techno. This music is for listening, and not for dancing, working or anything else. You should give this album, just a quite room and one hour of your free time and it will blow your mind. Jazz flourishes and four-four kicks and spaced out, warped vocals make this a strange varied listen.
Nicolas album express all that he has accumulated over two years. This is an honest tribute to American house with an admixture of disco, funk and jazz. The mood is really depressing lonely streets, rain, cold autumn. Space Is Only Noise is an album of atmospherics and it pursues pure sound and feeling at the expense of all else.

[OFWGKTA, Hip-Hop] Hodgy Beats – Mystery

Everybody know Odd Future now, damn. I remember spring 2010 when I saw Earl's video on youtube, I was so impressed , god damn. And now? Each second hipster knows who is Tyler, the Creator, it's a little bit annoying, don't you think so?
But whatever, today Hodgy Beats released his new track called Mystery, to say honestly i was positivity surprised, perfect beat, not fast rapping, everything what I like, btw the sample, if you’re wondering, derives from the legendary English Rock outfit Moody Blues! Odd Future look really unstoppable, waiting for a Tyler's new album - "Goblin".

[Experimental, Hip Hop, Dubstep, IDM, Wonky] MAD HOP

Mad hop is a future music generator and informator dedicated to experimental and abstract hip hop electronic music with major interest in IDM and dubstep, basically everything datz ill and mad with unrepitable style. In the beginning the was opened a group on Last.fm in 2009 and after two active years in digging and informing, guys decided to open the blog.

I found Mad hop a year ago, I think, at a time when I was not so familiar with glitch, idm, etc. But these guys have really good taste, and I can say that only because of them, I started listening to Gold Panda, Burail and the other musical geniuses, so if you're not familiar with suck kind of music, the only thing I can advise you is to listen Mad Hop vol.1 Mix( which is in bottom of the post).
In my opinion this is the best way to get acquainted with this music.

[Dubstep, 2-step, Future Garage] Burial - Street Halo

HYPERDUB is a London-based independent record label, founded in 2004 by a DJ and producer kode9. Label is considered as one of the leading on the dubstep scene. After nearly two years since the creation of the label it releases the first album of a producer whose no one knows.

William Bevan, better known under the nickname of Burial - the person who, as i believe, keeps the whole
HYPERDUBBurial's tracks can not be confused with the tracks of any other producer. I don't know how many fans around the world he has now, but I have to admit that his sound has fascinated me

And so i represent to your attention the tracks from a fresh release.

[experimental, chillwave, ambient] Bibio - Mind Bokeh

If you watching TV, and pay a little bit attention to the ads, than you might herd abou Bibio, his track Lover's Carvings from Ambivalence Avenue album was really very popular by the Amazon advertisment for Kindle.
Released through Warp Records, Mind Bokeh is Wilkinson's sixth full length release if you include The Apple And The Tooth, a record largely comprised of remixes. Given the quality of Ambivalence Avenue, it’s safe to say this was quite comfortably one of my most anticipated album’s of the year, and possibly even the album to catapult him into the realms to mainstream success. If you was listening to a Ambivalence Avenue, you can realise, what a big job Bibio had to do, just to satisfy a listener.

Album opener Excuses was premiered on Pitchfork at the beginning of February. The track itself sees Wilkinson creating a fantastical glitch-pop atmosphere in which the song moodily treads up until the final minute where it kicks into life, in resplendent style. There’s arguably more variation on Mind Bokeh than his previous records, the soulful Pretentious leads into a heavily sidechained Anything New, featuring a Dilla influenced beat. Elsewhere there’s the rock heavy Take Off Your Shirt, that sounds like it could have slipped off the end of a Phoenix album, yet ends up sounding anything but convincing.
The strongest tracks are where Bibio keeps to his electro roots, such as the atmospheric title track and the two minute blinder that is Feminine Eye. However, you can’t help but feel that it lacks the beauty often found in Bibio’s music; there’s nothing that even comes close to the hollow perfections of Fire Ant from Ambivalence Avenue.
So if you are just a random listener you have to download "Mind Bokeh", Im sure you will enjoy it, but I can't promise the same thing for a " Ambivalence Avenue" fans, "Mind Bokeh" is completely different, in one side it is really good, we can see, that Bibio is trying to find his own sound, and he is not afraid to do it, but in the other hand, a lot of people were expecting a typical Bibio's folkotronic album for a summer, and I'm not sure, that "Mind Bokeh" is a super compensation. I estimate Mind Bokeh for 7 out of 10, because it is really dope album, but I was expecting something else.

[House History] Jack Your Body!

What we hear today from the dance music? 80% of it is House! Where did he come from? Like all the most trendy, certainly in America, in the the birthplace of jazz, funk, disco and hip-hop.

Marshall Jefferson - Move Your Body

Somewhere in the 80's, when everybody were already tired of disco, the need for a new sound increased,so that in Chicago music producers putted together disco and the drum machine and got the house music. Notorious Frankie Knuckles was playing it at the "Warehouse" club.

The new genre got its name from the name of the club - "House music". Disco was made with a live orchestra drummers and singers, house was composed in home conditions, and everything you need to do to compose house is a four-track recorder and drum machine.

Farley Jackmaster Funk Ft Daryl Pandy

"In the beginning, there was Jack, and Jack had a groove. And from this groove came the groove of all grooves. And while one day viciously throwing down on his box, Jack boldly declared, "Let there be house!" and house music was born. "
(the lyrics "Can You Feel it" Mr. Fingers aka Larry Heard)

House music has penetrated to the radio through the "WBMX-FM" radio station in a Hot Mix 5 program (Ralph Rosario, Mickey "Mixin" Oliver, Scott "Smokin" Silz, Kenny "Jammin" Jason, and

Farley "Jackmaster" Funk)

The new record labels were producing house music, including Acid Trax and DJ International.

Mr Lee - Pump Up London

Adonis - No Way Back

In New York, the new sound of house music was called garage, and it began to evolve in a slightly different direction. "New York house music belongs to chic and bohemian life, but not to the underground hysteria, as in Chicago mid-80's." (Gorokhov "Muzprosvet")In Detroit House spawned techno music, but we're talking not about it now. In pursuit of new sounds branches of acid, disco, funky, jazzy-, garage, jackin, deep, hip house appears and it's not all the branches of this large tree of House.

[Instrumental Hip-Hop,Chillout,Downtempo] J-Rocc - Some Cold Rock Stuf

J - Rocc is one of the the founding fathers of Beat Junkies, and as for me, his debut solo record «Some Cold Rock Stuf» is a real novelty of the year.
Original instrumental hip-hop, that, for sure, will find it's fans.

Tracklist poured with variety of moods, like a bubble on the light. And compositions «Party», «Chasing The Sun» are good examples, wich I like the most.
A great pity that I've missed his concert in Moscow last year. No doubt, it was a cool show.

btw, if you like it download that shit.

Listen and Enjoy.
